Who we are
Scissor Zip is a free service run by Samal Studios, part of the Scissor family of tools. By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
The service
Scissor Zip lets you create, open, extract and convert archives in your browser. It is free, needs no account, and processes your files on your own device: they are never uploaded to us. We may add, change or remove tools, and the site may sometimes be unavailable.
Your files and passwords
You are responsible for the files you use with Scissor Zip and must have the right to use them. Because we never receive your files or passwords, we cannot recover a file, an archive or a forgotten password for you. Keep a copy of your originals until you have checked the result.
Acceptable use
Use Scissor Zip only for lawful purposes. Do not use it to infringe anyone's rights, and do not try to disrupt, overload or break into the website or our customer care service, or send spam or abusive content through its forms.
Our content
The website, its design, text and code belong to Samal Studios. You may use the tools freely, but may not copy or redistribute the site itself. Open-source components are used under their own licenses, listed on the How it works page.
No warranty
Scissor Zip is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Archive formats are complex, and we cannot guarantee that every archive opens or that every result is exactly what you expect. Check your archives before you rely on them or delete the originals.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Samal Studios is not liable for any loss of data, profits or business, or for any indirect or consequential damage arising from your use of Scissor Zip. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
Privacy and feedback
How we handle the little information we receive is explained in the privacy policy. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely to improve Scissor Zip.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always on this page. Continuing to use Scissor Zip after a change means you accept the new terms.
